Hi Emma! Each cake should be about 1.5-2″ tall if you bake three 6″ layers. Converting pan sizes is always tricky. Here are some sites I use as a guideline:

Also, approximately how many cups of batter does this yield. I am wanting to make in two deep 9 inch tins, for 4 layers, so trying to figure the correct amount of mix.
